It is with profound sadness, and heavy hearts, that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Oscar Lowe on June 4th, at the age of 78.
Forever missed by his loving wife, Gail. His Children Sean (Jackie), Tracey, Kasinda (Ron), and Cameron (Stephanie). Loving grandfather to Kashanti, Sean Jr., Olivia, Khymari, Mia, Brayden, Kemoni and Kaiya. Proud great-grandfather to Aaliyah, and Aariyah. His brothers Eugene, Ernest (Sheron), and Ferron (Keisha), His sisters Rita, Rosaline and Mary “Madona” (Predeceased).
Along with his immediate family, he leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Leonard will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and deep love of gardening. His garden was his pride and joy, especially the rosebushes he carefully tended to, year after year. Through every season he found happiness among the blooms, sharing their beauty with family and friends and neighbors. His gentle spirit, and warm smile with devotion to those he loved will be forever remembered.
He devoted more than 25 plus years of his career to National Steel Car, where he worked and earned the respect of his colleagues through his strong work ethic and leadership. As a supervisor, he took great pride in mentoring others and contributing to the success of the company. Known for his reliability, integrity, and willingness to help those around him, he will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for the lasting impact he made on family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and Personal Support Workers who provided compassionate care and support to Leonard.
Leonard will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends.
A Visitation will take place on Monday June 29, 2026, from 12 -1 p.m., at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East, in Hamilton.
A Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel Directly after 1 pm. Burial to take place at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
